Design Features

Typical Installation:
Using a 3-foot range hood as an example, the exhaust rate recommendations of the Home Ventilation Institute are: 3ft x 40 CFM = 120 CFM for a wall hood and 3ft x 50 CFM = 150 CFM for a hood installed
over a peninsula or island. We recommend oversizing the fan by at least 20% and matching it with our optional variable speed controller. This combination allows fan performance to be adjusted as needed,
and provides an extra boost for extraordinary cooking requirements. For today's commercial-style residential ranges we recommend 100 CFM per square foot of hood intake area. These recommendations are guidelines. Actual site conditions may require extra exhaust capacity to achieve satisfactory ventilation. *(CFM = cubic feet per minute)
